PostSubject: Re: Crooked Creek   Crooked Creek EmptySat Apr 21, 2018 1:09 am

The darken silhouette of the regal masculine sat alone atop the hillside overlooking the whispering creek below. Wind slightly blew in his direction ruffling his oddly colorized coat; this wind also brought with it the scents of the forest animals. Red fox, squirrel, badger and white tailed deer only to name a few. Loud bulging could be heard within the distance from the bull elks challenging one another for cows and land. Birds called out above, teaching their fledglings how to fly. Everywhere there was pure bliss and life was buzzing everywhere. However this canine felt alone despite all the noise surrounding his home. Slowly his hues shifted downward to his massive pads and he blinked. Around this time everyday, he would sit here and wait. Even though deep down he did not understand why but, in the end he still had hope. The sun was slowly beginning to set over the horizon, glowing in a deep orange blaze. Suddenly in the foliage nearby shifted awkwardly and caught his attention. As soon as he turned his head he noticed two plump grey squirrels.

The first was a larger one clicking his small incisors together as a warning to the other. Quickly the other shot out from the bushes with a flickering tail and called back to its companion. They were obviously fighting over something they both thought they deserved: walnuts. Kaiba watched with perked ears as the two continued back and forth; pouncing on one another and squeaking. Glancing over his shoulder the large brute noticed another walnut beside him. With a soft grunt his used his tail and pushed it towards the bickering two. Both of the plump animals squealed out and bolted away for a brief moment before the braver of the two ran over to snatch the gift. The second then grabbed the original walnut and they both disappeared back into the foliage.

Not noticing how quickly the sun was setting now, Kaiba sighed to himself as he forced his appendages to rise so that he was standing now on all fours. With another last hope, he stared out into the vast forest across from the quiet stream and whispered to himself, "Where are you?" Before long he would head back to the main den area.

PostSubject: Re: Crooked Creek   Crooked Creek EmptyMon May 07, 2018 2:50 am

The early spring weather was a nice change from the cold bitter Winter, the wildlife was abundant, although still not easy to catch.  Small mice and unsuspecting birds and squirrels was hardly a good meal.  Given the young jet black wolves talent at catching small prey however, meals were far and few between.  Not to mention the small size of the canine didn't help out any.  Thistle has always been small, and as of now he is even smaller due to lack of food.  Weaker as well.

None of that stopped Thistle from continuing on his seemingly hopeless quest.  He'd been walking for longer than he could care to remember, as of this moment the wolf couldn't help but to just walk slower and take in all the surrounding beauty, the birds, rustling of leaves in the warm breeze, the grey squirrel frantically zipping across the forest floor carrying a walnut.  Taking a deep breath the young wolf decided to try to capture the squirrel that had just gone by.  Thistle had already lost sight of it however, a quick sniff in the air however pointed to the direction the fuzzy little creature had gone.  Another sent filled the air as well however.

Making a loud gulp Thistle turned his blue eyes off to the distance.  There on the top of a hill was another wolf.  Fearing for the worst the little charcoal colored wolf lowered himself to the ground as fast as he could, creating a thumping noise as he did so.  Only if this wolf had good hearing would he have heard that, Thistle thought to himself.  The longer he looked at the large male sitting a small distance away the more Thistle's paws started to quiver.  Closing his eyes for a moment all of the horrible things that could possibly happen started to run through his mind quickly overwhelming the little wolf.  A small whimper managed to escape though.  Right after a small noise got Thistle to open his eyes just in time to see another grey squirrel with a walnut shoot by.  With that the wolf reminded himself that this is the opportunity that he'd been waiting for, to possibly find a home, or even just someone to be a friend.  At this thought the young wolf managed to squint his eyes shut and crawl forward until he knew he'd be in the much larger wolves sight.   Once there Thistle peeked an eye open to try to look up at the other wolf and out came a little, "Hello?"  Thistle's word may have only been above a whisper, but he felt it was little step in the right direction.  Hopefully.

Crooked Creek Empty
PostSubject: Re: Crooked Creek   Crooked Creek EmptySat May 12, 2018 7:50 pm

Many moons have come and gone since the reining regal had seen another friendly canine like himself. It has been over a year since the previous alphas abandoned this land to escape it’s impending doom. The land was weakening at the time, prey fled for better grazing because the vegetation ceased to exist for the warmer times. Refusing to give up, Kaiba had remained as this was the only home he had ever known and something told him the famine would not last forever. So, as everyone said their goodbyes to the masculine, it marked the beginning of his rein. He proceeded his grandparents and stepped into the role as leader. Though no one else followed him and stayed; he still ruled over his kingdom as a lone wolf with an iron fist. The last vagabond passing through came only a few nights before this to challenge his position to whom obviously lost and fled. Somehow faith had allowed him to survive the harsh time, fight off unnecessary and unwanted visitors: it all paid off as the prey had returned after the land regrew into what it is to this current day.

He hadn’t seen her since the previous winter. It’d been months since he was able to nuzzle into her lavender scented pelt, months since he admitted his true feelings for her and months since he was forced to say goodbye to the smokey shaded she wolf. Every evening since she fled his side for the sake of his own being to keep away the two legged beings; he would sit on top of the hill above the creek where he currently was and wait; hoping she would appear in the distance. Even with a broken heart the dark masculine never gave up hope, just as he had in the past with his home. Suddenly, he grew still as an unfamiliar and low sound broke the silence. He was unable to make out exactly what the sound was but, it was definitely a voice. Slowly Kaiba raised onto all fours, head held high and chest out. His blue orbs squinted and scanned his surroundings. “Zamber?” he called, barely above a whisper. Then he spotted a small dark shape close to the grassy terrain. Turning his head to the side slightly he knew it was not her but another. Possibly a younger canine? Tossing back his cranium, he howled lowly from deep within his chest in a short greeting to the stranger.

Crooked Creek Empty
PostSubject: Re: Crooked Creek   Crooked Creek EmptyTue May 15, 2018 1:11 am

The large wolf in front of Thistle seemed to notice the small black wolf, but not fully at first.  His jaw split open for a moment as if whispering something, Thistle was much too far to hear if anything was said or not however.  Immediately after that short second though the big brute actually saw Thistle, his light blue eyes falling upon the little wolf startled him at first.  Until Thistle saw no aggression in the older wolf's orbs.  With that a shaky sigh escaped Thistle as he closed his eyes in relief of the other larger canine not being hostile.  A short low howl bellowed from the other wolf, in turn causing Thistle's eyes to shoot open and his body to jump slightly.  Embarrassed from being startled so easily, the little black wolf could feel his face heat up just a little under his fur.  Taking a deep breath in the little black wolf managed to get out a shaky sounding, and rather quiet howl to greet the large stranger in front of him, attempting to do the same as the almost silvery wolf in front of him.  Still a little too nervous to approach the big canine, Thistle decided that sitting instead of laying wouldn't seem as awkward.  So keeping his head low in a more submissive position Thistle managed to push himself up to a sitting position to await what would happen between the two wolves next.

The reining regals piercing blue orbs did not dare to move away from the dark figure in the distance. He watched as the smaller canine cowarded awkwardly; clearly he was not accustomed to random strange encounters. Eventually the lad sat upright and seemed to be awaiting something. Instinct told Kaiba not to lower his guard but, at the same time interest was at its highest peak. Inhaling deeply, the grey and ivory brute rose slowly onto his appendages. Yawning for a brief second, his bright pink gums and fangs were visible. That was the only slight moment his  gaze was removed from the youngster. Shifting forward a bit, he paused to study the others canine movements. Perking his ears upright again, he began his slow descent down the hillside. His muscles rolled beneath his shiney pelt showing his strength from a surprisingly good winter despite hunting alone. After a few moments, he was a mer few feet away now. It was clear that this stranger was a pup, for sure now. His coat was the darkest of colors; ebony. It took him aback for a slight second as he noticed the pup had the same shade of eyes as him. Never in his life had he saw another with the same shade but, alas it was a big world out there. So, why couldn’t it happen? Turning his head to the side and giving his tail a few wags he spoke, “Hello there..” he said in his deep toned voice before adding, “Don’t be afraid, I’m not going to hurt you.”

The little wolf with his head hanging low was watching the large canine in front of him who was in turn watching Thistle rather intensely.  Then the charcoal grey wolf opened his jaws in a quick yawn, almost as if he was trying to show off his sharp teeth.  With that yawn out of the way, the wolf on the hill moved forward a bit and slowly made his way down towards Thistle.  Seeing the immense amount of muscle that was clearly bulging out from under the others fur made Thistle painfully aware of how naturally small he was, and how the past winter hadn't been too good.  The young wolf had gained most of his mass back, but he was still smaller than he usually when it came to his muscle.  The closer the other male got to the ebony wolf the more unsure of this whole situation Thistle became.  Shifting one of his paws around nervously in front of him Thistle glanced up to meet the strangers eyes for a moment.  Now that the large wolf was only a few feet away did Thistle really see the others eyes in full detail, something about how similar the two different pairs of blue orbs were to each other.  That's when the stranger spoke a greeting to little Thistle.  Hearing the older wolf's deep voice intimidated the young wolf, causing his head to droop lower and his eyes to turn to look at his small paws.  "Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you."  Stated the older canine.  That was enough to give Thistle a bit of an incentive towards not being so shy.  "H-hi, uh, sir..?" The little ebony wolf managed to nervously squeak out, not fully sure on how the stranger should be addressed.

The charcoal wolf enters in a unknown territory. He sniffs the air and feel that wolves scent circle there. He reminds the last time that saw one of them. When he was a little pup. In his born pack where he played with his sisters before rush from there. And Gaudner. One of the last canids that he saw. Chip missed him. After all, he hadn't overcome the loss of such an important companion in his life. Gaudner was like a father for the yearling, but a father quite different from his biological. He was cheerful. Severe, but cheerful. He knew that everything that had to be done had limits and didn't force him to do anything very difficult. But sometimes Chip wanted to be the hunter that day. Gaudner insisted and the young wolf, afraid, let him go.

Chip came out of his reverie when he ran into a puddle of water and then bent down to drink some. After a few sips he see that he would need something he hadn't had in a long time. Courage. Courage to go deeper into that territory and find out where those wolves were. Then the young wolf took a step forward and trotted up to where the scent of the wolves grew stronger.

As the yearling approached the place, he saw three wolves. Two that would probably be the dominant ones and one that like Chip would be a loner. Chip may realize that the dominant male showed no sign of aggression, so he felt safe to get closer. He stepped out of the shrubbery slowly, his ears back and his head lowered, so the wolves could see that he would bring no danger to them.

Towering over the small ebony canine with perked ears, Kaiba remained silent with interest until the young beast spoke. His talons digged at the pebble covered terrain below his pads. With another attempt to show he was not a threat the regal wagged his thick tail back and forth slowly. Quickly stopping whenever the pup spoke out with broken and strutting words. Huffing Kaiba lowered himself into a sitting position before replying, “It’s okay and you don’t need to call me that.” Being called sir was something that had never happened within his time; growing up it was by law of the pack to call the elders that but, rarely did a wolf ever want to be called that. Yes, it shows pure respect but at the same time who wants to admit their an elder? Shaking off the thought, he froze as his icy orbs managed to spot another dark shaped canine within the distance behind the vagabond in front of him. “You have a friend, huh?” he asked slowly, not removing his gaze off the other now. It was more than clear that the one before him was not a threat and was more likely to flee than attack.

The nerves of not just being around another wolf, but one so big was clearly getting to little Thistle.  When the older one spoke at first the young one's breath caught in his throat for a second, until he realized that they were in fact comforting words directed at the ebony wolf.  Releasing a breath Thistle didn't realize he had been holding, he was able to relax quite a bit.  Peering up into the icy blue eyes of the other canine and not seeing any sort of aggression actually made the tip of Thistle's tail start to wag just a little with happiness.  Ever since leaving what was once Thistle's home he had yet to meet another who hadn't shown aggression towards him.  "What should I call you then?"  Thistle asked, his voice still a little shaky and rather quiet.  That is when the much larger wolf looked away and spoke again asking about a friend.  Realizing there was in fact another presence in the area Thistle's head quickly snapped back around as panic filled his eyes.  Seeing another darker colored canine standing a little ways off the little ebony wolf quickly jumped behind the large stranger that Thistle was just talking to.  Peeking back around from behind the large brute Thistle quickly realized that the other wasn't a threat and looked to be really young as well.  Embarrassed Thistle lowered his head a little and shifted a paw around.  However he decided to stay behind the larger male, still not all too trusting of the new wolf though Thistle decided to keep an eye on him just in case.

PostSubject: Re: Crooked Creek   Crooked Creek EmptySun May 20, 2018 4:03 pm

Small white paws bound lightly along the gravely terrain as they carry her slim frame, the texture of the soft and damp sand underneath her pawpads was queer yet pleasing at the same time. A foreign feeling the young wolf was not yet accustomed to. Months of her upbringing were dedicated to roaming the vast and wide open fields with overflowing bodies of nothing but grass. It was certainly a change for the young wolf, but definitely a change worth changing for.

Her pace loosens, lethargy flooding across her thoughts as she slows her quick bounds to small steps. Now that she was here, what was there to do? Teru looked up, her chocolate gaze examining the wall of green foliage, taking in the everlasting beauty of it. The area was alive with creatures; choruses of birds were singing proudly and other relevant animals were ensuring their presences were known. It made her question how all of the wildlife was like around here. One that seemed to fog her thoughts quite frequently being: were there any fellow wolves around and if so, are they benevolent? It made her want to find out, and restraining her bubbling curiosity day by day was becoming more of a challenge as her lonesome days pass by. To say that Teru is jaded of the repetitive patterns of her everyday lifestyle would be an understatement. She is sick of it. At this point, she is so willing to bend, break, and remold her morals so she can fit in with anybody whose morals her's might contradict with.

Suddenly, the aroma of not one but three wolves hit Teru like a brick wall, snapping her out of her trance as she whips her head forward, eyes desperately scanning the vicinity in front of her as her posture stiffens. Finally. An opportunity for companionship, and a chance for the young wolf to hold onto her sanity for a while longer. She inches closer as three wolves come into her perspective. They all appeared to be friendly... unless that's just Teru convincing herself they are. To prevent herself from saying something stupid or desperate, she clamps her jaws tightly shut and allows her body language to speak for her; spine lowered and ears positioned back, tail limp and gaze ducked. She wasn't going to allow this golden opportunity slip past her.

Khronos emerged into the area. He marched forward with a slight bounce in his trot. His paws drummed against the creek floor as he made no effort to be stealthy. After a long journey, he had finally left the place he once called home. Now beyond the trees he had hoped there would be a new pack open to new members. The old brute missed the company of others. During his time as a loner he had began a habit of talking to himself. His golden coat glimmered in the warm sun. "So much for camouflage." He chuckled quietly to himself.

His ears flicked forward as he listened to his surroundings. Almost dead. He trailed after one of the newer scents which led him closer to the territory. He was almost there. He slowed his pace as he grew closer. His eyes were alert as he felt more cautioned as he approached. He crossed the border line and continued deeper. His short tail swaying behind him. Surely somebody soon would notice his presence.

"What should I call you then?"

Turning his abnormally large authorities forward towards the ebony canine, the regal grunted softly aloud. His blue orbs studied the shy wolf for a select moment again before responding, "Kaiba will do just find, pup." his bright pink tongue lolling out with a wolfish grin following behind. Using his expressions he was attempting to reassure this stranger that he was not a threat. Even though the dark youngster voice came out sneakingly every time he spoke the beast did not see him as a foe neither. Once he must've realized they were not alone, in a quick movement he bolted behind Kaiba. Unable to hold back a short deep chuckle he huffed out, "I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am quiet sure if they were to attack they would have done so by now, eh." Suddenly however though small rustling movement from the forest caught his attention and his blue gaze stared off in the direction from which it came. A small lithe golden shaded wolf lowered close to the ground shifted outward into view. Another? What is up with all them showing up at once tonight? He turned his massive cranium sideways and let out a small whine, showing that he was not a threat. "I am presuming all three of you are seeking a new home?" he barked out.

(I'm sorry it wasn't the best but, oh well.)

A pale she wolf padded her way between the thick lush trees on the other side of the creek. She was a few feet away from the flowing water itself as she could hear it splashing against the rocks on the water banking. Birds flew in and out of the branches, calling out to one another and calling out with songs. Scents of neighboring animals were strong but none stronger than that of one canine in particular. All throughout this land she could smell him. A strong musky scent that smelled of a fresh rain storm: his smell overpowered all in the area. It was clear he was here recently claiming over his land and making sure others knew it was his. Continuing onward she paused as strange voices came out. A deep toned one, probably the one she scented. And four others. Most male and perhaps another las. Closing her golden orbs and inhaling deeply, she stepped out of the bushes to reveal herself to them. After exhaling in a soft sigh she spotted a dark grey and white male, two smaller ebony ones and lastly, a dark golden female off in the distance.

The muzzle of a light dark canine touches the ground with the smell of several other howling beasts in the pack territory. Quickly he raises his head toward the smell. They were in Crooked Creek. Valdiir decides to go there to help his alpha in case something was wrong. He then goes down to get the eucalyptus and the dandelion he had collected earlier. His mission was to get the maximum of medicinal herbs possible for emergency use in the den, but he couldn't find many things. Maybe a little more time exploring, but he was too tired to continue. The elder follows the path as far as the wolves were. When he arrives at Crooked Creek, he spots Kaiba near two young black wolves and a female wolf with light coat. Valdiir didn't know them. "What's going on?" he asks with a  french accent when leave the herbs on top of a rock.

"What's going on?"

A familiar voice called out and broke the awkward silence between all the canines. The reining regal did not take his blue orbs from the current vagabonds before him as he knew the other approaching wolf. The raspy voice belonged to the elderly savant to whom recently joined Kaiba. Flicking on ear quickly he replied, "Looks like we have some visitors." Right after his statement rustling came from across the creek bed and his cranium turned in the direction. Curling his lip back in a sort warning, the alpha was growing a bit annoying with how many canines were showing themselves. What if it were an ambush all along? He could handle taking on the younger two but, what of this new one? An ivory las shifted her way out of the safety of the foliage with curiosity showing over her mawl. She was a beautiful female with golden orbs. Kaiba snorted quickly before huffing out, "Again, presuming you all want to join me, you mind as well follow me. If you are to attack me... that wouldn't be wise." With one last scanning around to the area, still hoping one last very familiar face would appear, he sighed softly to himself and glanced to the ebony pup behind him. Grunting he stepped over the juvenile and slowly began to pad his way towards the packs den area.

Thistle did not really like all of these random wolves showing up all at once at all.  It was almost as if they were following him.  Hopefully it was just coincidence the little wolf thought to himself.  Thistle could feel the massive wolf he was taking shelter behind begin to grow annoyed, the ebony wolf wasn't too sure if he should get further away or even just leave all together, he had come so far, to just leave felt wrong.  Something in him felt like he belonged here, it also could of just been the fact that Thistle was tired of walking.  The big brutes voice suddenly broke Thistle from his train of thoughts pulling him back into the moment.  Something about following the big wolf and not attacking him, Thistle didn't catch the full thing despite being right behind the wolf.  That's when Thistle noticed the larger wolf's icy glare fall upon him, giving a grunt the wolf stepped over him as Thistle lowered himself to the ground so he could be stepped over easier, not that it made too much of a difference.  Despite the large male now clearly being annoyed Thistle still trusted him more that any of the others and quickly fell in step behind him, careful to not get too close.
